Erika

"Hello, I’m Erika, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My professional journey has been shaped by diverse experiences and multicultural populations, and I bring a compassionate approach that centers around the whole individual.

I've honed my skills through EMDR training and the Grief Recovery Method, with a strong background in crisis intervention and work through a trauma-informed lens. Much of my professional history revolves around working with adolescents, young adults, adults, and families, primarily in school and community settings. These experiences have allowed me to witness incredible growth and resilience in the face of various challenges.

In my therapeutic practice, I champion a strength-based, client-centered philosophy. Authenticity and genuine connection are the cornerstones of my approach, and I often infuse humor into our therapeutic relationship, creating a safe space for you to explore your world and traumatic experiences. Some of my therapeutic modalities include attachment theories, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), grief, traditional talk therapy, and the integration of EMDR. I prioritize psychoeducation and client-centered approaches, believing that collaboration with you and informed decision-making are

essential for a successful therapeutic journey.

Over the years, I've worked extensively with clients dealing with anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief and loss, complex trauma, adjustment issues, and academic stress at both high school and college levels. I would approach our work with a commitment to you, regardless the challenge, helping you overcome obstacles, grow and develop, and move forward based on your unique needs.

Recognizing the profound impact of trauma on the nervous system, I incorporate mindfulness techniques to regulate and promote healing. I firmly believe in the transformative power of authenticity, honesty, vulnerability, and openness, fostering an environment where you can explore your strengths and build new strategies for growth.  I hold the belief that every client possesses inherent strengths, and my role is to help you discover and utilize these strengths or create new strategies, fostering growth in a direction that feels healthy and fulfilling for you.”
